Arsenal are close to signing Manuel Locatelli from Sassuolo.
The Gunners have made an offer worth €45million (£38m) for Locatelli, but the midfielder is waiting to join Juventus.
Sassuolo are resigned to losing Locatelli this summer and are in talks with both Arsenal and Juventus.
But according to SportMediaset, only Arsenal have made an acceptable bid for the Italy international.
Manuel Locatelli’s preferred move revealed
The Premier League club have offered £38m, which meets Locatelli’s asking price, while Juve have so far only proposed an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy the player next summer.
Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta, has made a new midfielder one of his top priorities this summer transfer window, with Granit Xhaka set to join Jose Mourinho at Roma and a new partner for Thomas Partey is required at Emirates.
Arsenal have been linked with the likes of Brighton’s Yves Bissouma and Lyon’s Houssem Aouar, but Locatelli appears to be their number one choice.
