EPL: Campbell tells Nigerian-born striker, Balogun to leave Arsenal
Former Arsenal striker, Kevin Campbell, has told Nigerian-born striker, Folarin Balogun, to leave the Gunners on loan.
Campbell believes Balogun needs a loan away from Arsenal to really kickstart his fledgling career.
He said this ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League clash with Crystal Palace on October 18.
Speaking to Football Insider, Campbell said, “He needs to learn his trade. Balogun needs to go out on loan and get some football.
“Under-23s football is just too easy for him at the moment. He needs to go into the trenches. That’s the only way he’ll learn about his game.”
“When you play against the defenders in the lower leagues, they have mortgages and families to look after. It is serious. Whereas it is all hunky-dory in the Under-23s.
“I am [sure] he will go out and get that experience next year. Then he will realise his standard.”
