EPL: Mourinho gives verdict on Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Man United
Roma boss, Jose Mourinho has described the acquisition of the services of Cristiano Ronaldo by Manchester United as a perfect deal for all parties involved.
The Portuguese also suggested that his countryman’s decision to leave Juventus has opened the door for Roma to win Serie A this season.
Juventus boss, Massimiliano Allegri had during his post match press conference revealed that the Portugul captain had asked to leave the club.
And it all looked like the 36-year-old was heading to Manchester City but it’s Manchester United that landed the five-time Ballon d’Or winner at last.
Asked about the deal at a press conference on Saturday, the Roma boss said: “What I can say is basic, it’s logical. If Juventus are happy, if Ronaldo is happy and Manchester United are happy, then it’s a perfect deal.
“There is no need to talk about Cristiano Ronaldo. He has made history, he has been winning trophies for the past 20 years. There is nothing more to say.
“Any changes in terms of the Scudetto with Juventus losing Cristiano Ronaldo? This question is for [Inter boss] Simone Inzaghi not for me.’
Mourinho had earlier told talkSPORT that he hoped Ronaldo would leave Juventus, saying: “He should leave Italy now and leave me in peace!”
