EPL: Sack Solskjaer like Chelsea did with Lampard – Jamie O’Hara tells Man Utd
Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, Jamie O’Hara, has urged Manchester United to sack their manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, just as Chelsea sacked Frank Lampard in January and replaced him with Thomas Tuchel.
O’Hara gave Man United the advice while reacting to the Red Devils’ Premier League 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa at Old Trafford over the weekend.
According to him, Man United need to ‘cut ties’ with Solskjaer as he won’t make them title contenders this season, despite their star names like Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba and Edinson Cavani.
Man United are only a point off the top of the Premier League table so far this season, but O’Hara can’t see them mounting a serious title challenge before the end of the current campaign.
“Disappointing from [Manchester] United, another bad performance from them, “O’Hara told talkSPORT Breakfast.
“It just shows how wrong they are getting this with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, they keep sticking by him and are not being ruthless enough.
“Look at the squad of players they have – Bruno Fernandes, Edinson Cavani, Paul Pogba, Cristiano Ronaldo – this team has to be challenging for the title, but they are not going to because they can’t win at home.
“The manager’s just not good enough. Like Chelsea did with Lampard, cut ties, be ruthless and go and win something because they are not going to do it.”
