EPL: Why Harry Kane will not leave Tottenham for Man City – Harry Redknapp

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager, Harry Redknapp, has given reasons striker, Harry Kane, will not be leaving the club to join Manchester City this summer.

Kane has been the subject of intense speculation about a move to Man City after he told Tottenham before the Euro 2020 that he wants to leave the club.

Tottenham chairman, Daniel Levy, is unwilling to sell Kane and is unlikely to sanction a transfer unless Man City meet his asking price, which is understood to be in the region of £160 million.

In order to force through a move out from Spurs, Kane seemingly refused to return to the club’s pre-season training on time, even though he released a statement last week claiming that was not the case before duly returning to the training ground.

But Redknapp has now revealed that the England captain will be going nowhere due to Levy’s rigid stance.

He stated this ahead of Tottenham’s Premier League opener against Man City this weekend.

“I spoke to somebody at Tottenham who told me that they think Harry Kane will stay – which I was quite surprised about,” the former Spurs manager told BetVictor.

“They just think Daniel will not budge from the price he’s put on him [Kane] and he’s not going to say ‘well Harry’s been a good servant and he really wants to go so we will take this for him or whatever’.

“If he doesn’t get the money then I don’t think he is going to budge. Unless he gets that money then he is going to be there next season, that is what I was told.”
