Roma manager, Jose Mourinho has criticised England midfielder, Mason Mount for his underwhelming performance after the Three Lions’ Euro 2020 final defeat to Italy on Sunday night.
England lost 3-2 to Italy on penalties following a 1-1 draw after 120 minutes at Wembley Stadium.
Leonardo Bonucci had netted an equaliser for Italy in the 67th minute after Luke Shaw had fired England into an early lead.
With the score at 1-1, the game went to extra-time, and Mount ended up being replaced by Jack Grealish in the 99th minute during the encounter.
Italy eventually won on penalties after Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka all missed their spot-kicks.
But Mourinho believes Mount didn’t perform well for England against Italy.
Mourinho was quoted as saying by The Birmingham Mail: “For example, yesterday, some players, they didn’t come. I don’t remember [Mason] Mount as an example, I don’t remember him.”
The Portuguese gaffer added: “I keep saying Grealish has to play.”
