Portuguese football tactician, Jose Mourinho, has tipped England to win the Euro 2020 championship.
England will play Italy in the final at Wembley Stadium on Sunday after the controversial 2-1 extra-time win over Denmark on Wednesday.
Roberto Mancini’s Italian side had defeated Spain through a penalty shootout on Tuesday night to also qualify for the final.
Mourinho reiterated his earlier view that the Three Lions have what it takes to end their 55-year wait for a major trophy with Italy lying in wait in the final.
“I think it is to win, the runners-up medal is not a nice one. England at home, you know, you have to go to win it and if England doesn’t win it I think it will be a double frustration,” the AS Roma manager said.
Mourinho noted that Gareth Southgate’s side, with their display against Denmark, showed that they can cope with difficult times.
“It is so close – it’s just about one match. They could cope with the pressure, they could cope being 1-0 behind and having a very strong reaction,” he added.
