Lionel Messi: Cesc Fabregas reveals what’ll happen to Ligue 1
Monaco midfielder, Cesc Fabregas, has revealed that the new Paris-Saint Germain signing, Lionel Messi, will take Ligue 1 to “another dimension” after joining Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
Messi signed a two-year deal with PSG after his contract with Barcelona expired earlier this summer.
The Argentine captain was unveiled on Tuesday and had a press conference on Wednesday at the Parc des Princes.
Speaking on the development, Fabregas, a former teammate with Messi at Barcelona, believes his arrival would be great for the French top-flight league.
Messi deserves a happy ending – Fabregas
“I think having Leo in this league is something really special,” Fabregas was quoted by the Evening Standard as saying.
“Obviously, in the past, in the last few years, PSG especially, have tried with a lot of big names.
“Obviously, Leo for me is the greatest and there is no one like him, so he is on top and the most special one. For France and Ligue 1, this is another dimension.
“Sometimes I tell him, he does not even know how big he’s.
“For this reason, there are sometimes more followers of Lionel [Messi] the person than, for example, a single club.
“For this reason, a lot of people will now be following Ligue 1 for sure and especially with Leo there and the trio they’re creating with Mbappe and Neymar – which will be fantastic to watch.”
