Former Real Madrid and Inter Milan midfielder, Wesley Sneijder, has predicted the winner between Chelsea and Manchester City when both teams clash in the Champions League final on Saturday night.
Chelsea and Man City will face each other in Portugal on May 29 in what will be the first all-English Champions League final since Liverpool’s victory against Tottenham Hotspur in 2019.
The Blues have not won the Champions League since their famous victory over Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena in 2012, while Pep Guardiola’s side are yet to win a Champions League crown.
Thomas Tuchel’s side will be desperate to win the Champions League after failing to beat Leicester City in the FA Cup final earlier this month.
Providing his prediction, Sneijder backed Chelsea to beat Man City and win the Champions League because they have already beaten the Premier League champions in the FA Cup some weeks ago this season.
“Yes, they [Manchester City and Chelsea] are the two best clubs [in Europe right now]. For me, Chelsea wins.
“They are a strong team with Tuchel and they have a great coach, they have already beaten Manchester City, and for me, they are favourites.
“I have seen Chelsea play many times and have pride and strength. I am happy that these two teams are on top of Europe right now,” Sneijder told the Daily Mail.
