Manchester United coach, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, wants to make two more signings after the club agreed on personal terms with Real Madrid defender, Raphael Varane.
According to football transfer expert, Duncan Castles, Solskjaer wants to sign a midfielder and a right-back before the end of the summer.
Varane’s contract at Real Madrid expires at the end of next season and the Los Blancos do not want to risk losing him for free.
Solskjaer wants Varane to become the central defender partner with Man United captain Harry Maguire.
But Man United are yet to agree a fee with Real Madrid, who reportedly want between £51.5m for the France centre-back.
Speaking on Reach PLC’s Transfer Window podcast, Castles said: “Solskjaer has been provided with an incredible degree of attacking resource.
“He’s been provided with a huge amount of money to improve in defence.
“He has a midfield where a player like Donny van de Beek, who was wanted by Real Madrid, is barely used last season.
“[He] still wants other reinforcements in midfield and right-back as well.
“If you have all of that, I think there has to be an obligation on Solskjaer’s part to deliver silverware finally and end that trophy drought that he’s presided over during his time at the club.”
