New Barcelona signing, Memphis Depay has paid tribute to the club’s captain, Lionel Messi, describing the Argentine international as the best player in the world.
Depay disclosed this during his official unveiling as a Barcelona player at the Camp Nou on Thursday evening.
The Netherlands international said he was looking forward to playing alongside Messi, adding that his qualities are clear.

The 27-year-old forward joined Barcelona from French Ligue 1 side, Lyon.
“It is a dream [to play with Messi],” Depay said.
“He is a legend and I don’t need to say too much else. The best player in the world.
“Did you see what he did in the Copa America?
“I am really looking forward to playing with Leo [Messi] and his qualities are clear.
“I am a big fan.”
