TOPIC: The Power Of Humility (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Devotional 14 May 2021)

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Matthew 11:28-30
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

The MESSAGE:
Humility should come from understanding who God is and who we are — God is absolutely sovereign. The words of Jesus in Matthew 11:29 that He is meek and lowly clearly indicate that we are being instructed to be humble as Jesus our example was. Being God in man, He chose the path of meekness and lowliness in heart to show us the way.

We can also see another example in John the Baptist. He gave His disciples a lesson in humility amidst Jesus’ growing popularity (John 3:30): “He must increase, but I must decrease.” This is a very big lesson for us today. Jesus and John could be said to be two ministries taking place close to each other. The locations are not exactly known, but they were along the Jordan River, which they were using for baptisms. In John 4:2, it was Jesus’ disciples that were conducting the baptism. It is also interesting to know that John baptised Jesus, but he did not grow envious of Him! He has all the reasons to be proud, because right from the womb, he was baptised in the Holy Spirit, but he chose the humble way.
Beloved, humility is the way of glory and greatness. If you desire greatness, you must pray yourself to that level. God is waiting for humble vessels to use for His glory. Are you ready to submit to Him?
PRAYER POINTS:
MORNING
- O Lord, help me to submit my life to You, in the name of Jesus.
- Jesus Christ, I declare You Lord over the affairs of my life, in the name of Jesus.
- My Father, today, I choose to walk humbly with You, in the name of Jesus.
EVENING
- Every garment of pride, catch fire, in the name of Jesus.
- Teach me, O Lord, to do Your will, in the name of Jesus.
- Anything in my life assigned to destroy me, come out and die, in the name of Jesus.
- Arise, O Lord and lift me up by fire, in the name of Jesus.
