ABOUT ONYINYECHI OKENWA
Onyinyechi Okenwa is the third and only girl in a family of three children. She was born on September 12. She was raised in a loving christian home with both parents as role models. Her journey with singing started at the young age of 10 – 11 years when she joined the church choir. However before this, she was doted on by family and friends for her reading skills. Onyinyechi started reading at the age of three and would often be called on by family and family friends to read on especially difficult articles above her age group. As such, her parents preferred that she was honed on brain tasks that required reading and writing.
By age 9, Onyinyechi read the scriptures before the Church congregations on Sundays and at weekly early morning services. Onyinyechi would later become a Sunday school teacher, prayer leader and Bible Study teacher. During this period, she also presented her written songs/poetry as Spoken Words.
By 2022, when her call to gospel singing became very clear, Onyinyechi had become versed and grounded in the ministry of prayer, and teaching the word so that her wisdom and ideas were easily communicated through songs. Her songwriting and ministrations were constantly backed with testimonies, signs and wonders, and evidence of God’s power.
