TOPIC: God Cannot Lie [Open Heaven for Teens 12 November 2021]
MEMORISE: That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: Hebrews 6:18
READ: Psalms 119:89
89 For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Ezekiel 1-3, Hebrews 9:1-28
MESSAGE:
Today’s memory verse says God cannot lie, He is an embodiment of truth. The day God lies, He will not only deny Himself but also stop being God. The beauty of this situation is that He is bound to keep to the promises He made to you as long as you remain in obedience. No matter the number of years spent waiting on God, He can never be late, it will surely come to pass.
In addition, God cannot violate His word. Psalm 119:89 says:
“For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven.”
Understanding the nature of God will guide you in prayer. For instance, if a Christian boy/girl asks God to help him/her remain invisible while cheating or prevent unwanted pregnancy while engaging in pre-marital sex, he or she is simply asking God to violate His word. If you make such a request from God and you have not been caught, it’s only a matter of time. In fact, He is giving you room to repent so that you can reign with Him in eternity if rapture were to take place now.
KEY POINT:
Many prayers are unanswered because they violate Gods word and will.
HYMN: I Can Hear My Saviour Calling
- I can hear my Savior calling,
I can hear my Savior calling,
I can hear my Savior calling,
“Take thy cross and follow, follow
Me.
CHORUS
Where He leads me I will follow,
Where He leads me I will follow,
Where He leads me I will follow,
I’ll go with Him, with Him all the way.
- I’ll go with Him through the garden,
I’ll go with Him through the garden,
I’ll go with Him through the garden,
I’ll go with Him, with Him all the way. - I’ll go with Him through the judgment,
I’ll go with Him through the judgment,
I’ll go with Him through the judgment,
I’ll go with Him, with Him all the way. - He will give me grace and glory,
He will give me grace and glory,
He will give me grace and glory,
And go with me, with me all the way.
