TOPIC: Worshipper Vs Worker [Open Heaven for Teens 18 October 2021]
MEMORISE: God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. John 4:24
READ: John 4:23-24
- But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
- God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Isaiah 65-66, 2 Thessalonians 1:1-12
MESSAGE:
There is a difference between a worshipper and a worker. While a worshipper has a relationship with God as a result of his act of praises and service to God, a worker only serves in the vineyard of God in a particular capacity. A worshipper makes in his heart a throne for God while a worker expends energy in the service of God. While it is good to be a worker, it is better to be a worshipper because a worshipper will be a worker. No true worshipper will abandon the work of God. For instance, in the case of King Saul and David, the Bible records that King Saul prophesied in his early days as king (1 Samuel 19:1-24) but he never wrote a Psalm, danced or sang to the Lord. David on the other hand was a singer, dancer, instrumentalist, prophet, priest and King – an all in one package. No wonder he found his way into God’s heart.
When you come into God’s presence, don’t form activity or big boy or girl. Dance before God, participate actively in the service. John 4:22 tells us that God is seeking worshippers, not workers. He is aware that every true worshipper will be a dedicated worker.
KEY POINT:
Those who don’t worship God become work tools in the hands of the devil.
HYMNS: All Hail The Power Of Jesus Name
- All hail the pow’r of Jesus’ name!
Let angels prostrate fall.
Bring forth the royal diadem,
And crown him Lord of all. - Crown Him, ye martyrs of our God,
Who from His alter call;
Extol the stem of Jesse’s rod,
And crown him Lord of all. - Ye chosen seed of Israel’s race,
A remnant weak and small,
Hail Him who saves you by His
grace,
And crown him Lord of all. - Ye Gentile sinners, ne’er forget
the wormwood and the gall;
Go, spread your trophies
at His feet,
And crown him Lord of all. - Let every kindred, every tribe,
On this terrestrial ball,
To Him all majesty ascribe,
And crown Him Lord of all. - O that with yonder sacred throng
We at His feet may fall,
Join in the everlasting song,
And crown Him Lord of all.
