Real Madrid president, Florentino Pérez, has reacted to the departure of captain Sergio Ramos from Los Blancos.
Ramos officially leaves Real Madrid on Thursday after spending 16 years at Santiago Bernabeu.
The veteran Spanish defender won 22 trophies during his time at Real Madrid.
Reacting, Perez thanked Ramos for defending the Real Madrid’s shirt with his whole heart.
He also said that the 35-year-old has now become one of Real Madrid’s biggest legends.
“You have carved out one of the greatest careers in the history of our club. For many years, you have been a role model for our fans, and without doubt, you are now one of Real Madrid’s biggest legends,“ Perez was quoted by Real Madrid’s official website as saying.
“Thank you for everything that you have given this club and for having defended our crest and shirt and put your heart and soul into every game and always fought until the end.”
Ramos featured 671 times for Real Madrid and netted 101 goals.
