New Real Madrid signing, David Alaba, has given reasons why he picked the club’s former captain Sergio Ramos’ number four shirt number at Santiago Bernabeu.
Alaba, who was unveiled on Wednesday by Real Madrid, said he accepted the jersey number worn by Ramos, who now plays for PSG because the club told him it was the only one available.
The Austria international also said that the jersey number is a great motivation for him, adding that he wants to honour it.
Alaba joined Real Madrid from Bayern Munich.
“It’s a number [Ramos’ No. 4 shirt] that is a great motivation for me and one I want to honour,” Alaba said during his unveiling on Wednesday.
