Saraki comforts Anthony Joshua after losing titles to Oleksandr Usyk
Former Senate President, Bukola Saraki has sent a message of comfort to boxer Anthony Joshua after suffering defeat at the hands of Oleksandr Usyk.
At the end of Saturday’s bout, Joshua lost his WBA, IBF, and WBO world heavyweight titles to Usyk.
In a tweet on Sunday, Saraki described Joshua as a true champion who demonstrated magnanimity in defeat.
The former Kwara Governor told Joshua that he remained a king in the ring and in real life.
“You are a true definition of a champion. You showed real courage and character during the fight and demonstrated magnanimity after the verdict.
“Hold your head up high, you’ll surely live to celebrate another day!”, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain assured.
Usyk and Joshua confirmed they are ready to meet again for a rematch in February or March 2022.
“It was a good 12-rounder, so I’ll be in a good place when I get back into training to pick up where we left off. Usyk is a lot lighter than me so he’s got a good pace”, said Joshua.
