TCB Premiere: Herrick “Someday I’ll Fly”
Nashville-based band Herrick returns with their third studio album Sunderland Road on September 10th. With so much noise in the world coming from every direction, the rise of Herrick’s music above the din is most definitely attributed to their rich melodic persuasion and signature harmonies. Their brand new album Sunderland Road, co-produced by GRAMMY Award-winning engineer Snake Reynolds, is a masterful representation of that. Kerry and Donna Herrick have established themselves in the secular market for years, but anyone who knows them also knows they are two people of great faith. In anticipation of the album’s release, we bring you the exclusive premiere of “Someday I’ll Fly,” one of the featured tracks on the new record. This song is beautiful, soulful and spiritual…sang in the most powerful voice that is Donna Herrick.
“‘Someday I’ll Fly’ is a song that Snake Reynolds, our co-producer brought to one of our writing sessions. We dug deep to write this one,” Donna Herrick tells TheChristianBeat. “It was hard to do, as I just lost my mom. It was very healing in that it expresses the positive side of leaving this world. But it is one of my favorites to perform. When we perform the song, it brings to mind the beauty of life and death.”
Herrick is the patchwork of two lives long lived together. Sewn up in organic composition and exquisite harmonies, theirs is a fabric held together with steel thread. Their career resume includes significant placement on the country music charts, a slew of critical applause, a pair of IAMA International Acoustic Awards for Folk/Bluegrass/Americana “Group of the Year,” “Entertainer of the Year” and “Female Vocalist of the Year” at the Josie Music Awards and a Bronze Telly Award.
Sunderland Road is available now to pre-order/pre-save.
