TOPIC: Remember The Lord Your God (TREM Devotional 19 July 2021)
‘’But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.‘’ – Deuteronomy 8:18 KJV
The word ‘power’ there means ability. The fact that you can walk out of your house for business and come back with result is the goodness of God. It is not because you are smarter than others or because you are a good investor. Have you not seen those who invested, and everything was wiped out overnight? So, you must understand that your success is not about your smartness but God’s mercy at work over your life.
If it had not been for the Lord who was on your side, the enemy would have destroyed you, your business and your household. When you stop and think, you will see God in very critical points in your life. Yes, you may not have it all, but if you can think, then you can thank. We acknowledge the critical role of God in our lives by honouring Him with our substances and with the first fruits of all our increase.
Child of God, when you wake up in the morning what do you do first? Most likely, you will grab your phone and check the social media. That ought not to be the case. The first thing you should do is to thank the Lord for the gift of life. Thank Him that you can wake up. Money cannot buy that! It is God’s mercy. Do not become so self-centered that you are not even ready to honour God with what He has provided for you.
Place your hand on your chest and say: ‘’Lord I receive mercy from you. Thank you, Lord, for mercy. The enemy wanted to have me, but mercy said, ‘’no.’’ I receive mercy in my life, in my business, in my family. I receive mercy in my marriage, my finance, my health. I receive mercy right now in my academics, my profession and career. I adore you. Blessed be your name forever.’’
