What they said wasn’t funny – Hazard expresses disappointment after laughing with ex-Chelsea teammates

Real Madrid star, Eden Hazard, has revealed that he was very disappointed with himself after he was seen laughing with his former teammates at Chelsea following Los Blancos’ UEFA Champions League exit at Stamford Bridge in May.

Hazard struggled to make an impact against Chelsea and then angered those connected with Real Madrid after television cameras caught him laughing with the Blues stars, Kurt Zouma and Edouard Mendy, just minutes after the full-time whistle.

Real Madrid eventually lost the match 2-0 against Chelsea, who eventually won the Champions League after beating Manchester City 1-0.

Speaking on the development, Hazard told Belgian publication Het Nieuwsblad, that what he did against Chelsea was wrong and damaged Real Madrid’s image, adding that what Mendy and Zouma said was not even funny.

Hazard said, “That was wrong. What Mendy and Zouma said was not even funny, but I played with Zouma and I know Mendy.

“It’s always fun to see your friends again. I know that I damaged Real Madrid’s image. Everyone assumed that I was not hurting, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.

“I was very disappointed. If there was any game that I wanted to win, then it was against my old club at Stamford Bridge.”
